Making the Most of the Moving Image
Showing: Workshop Saturday 10th Nov at 10am
Director: Tony Mallon
Genre: Film Making
Runtime: 1hr 30min
This introductory workshop is designed to provide specific ‘hands-on’ camera operation skills to those interested in entering the film and broadcast industry. Topics will include practical use of the camera, lighting, lenses and exposure, time code and audio.
During the workshop, we’ll be looking at the practical aspects of filming a ‘talking heads’ setup as used in drama and documentary situations. We hope to be able to offer more in-depth follow-up workshops over the next few months depending on interest generated. The workshop will be introduced by Tony Mallon – Director of Photography DoP (GBCT). In a long career he has filmed in documentary, drama and national news, including working on Great Railway Journeys with Michael Palin, Wogan’s Island and Decisive Moments.
He has covered the visits of 3 US Presidents, sat with Colonel Gaddafi in the Libyan Desert and along with his crew, took part in feature film workshops over a 4-year period in ‘Moonstone’, the European version of Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival.
