Newcastle Community Cinema looks back through the career of visionary director Christopher Nolan, to bring you his mind-melting masterpiece from 11 years ago, the inspired "Memento". For the very first screening of what will be a very busy year for NCC, it seemed right to acknowledge one of the most startlingly original, and downright challenging movies of recent years, a film that ignores normal feature film structure, and puts audience expectation on it's head. With a story that concerns one man - Leonard (Guy Pearce) - and his agonising struggle with severe short term memory loss, as he attempts to use all means necessary to identify his wife's killer, this film is unquestionably quite unlike anything you have seen before. Critical plaudits and awards were plenty, but it has to be seen/experienced to be believed.
