Director James Bobin brilliantly realises this live-action adaptation of the Nickelodeon TV favourite, with newcomer Isabela Merced taking the main role as the brave & fearless titular heroine. Events are set after the conclusion of the TV series, deep in the heart of the Peruvian jungle.

We follow Dora, Boots, Diego & friends as they negotiate the perils of the hidden Inca city Parapata, to discover the legendary treasure at the City’s sacred heart. Playing out like a junior “Raiders”, Dora’s film explorations are full to the brim of vibrant edge-of-the-seat thrills & spills, puzzles, traps & obstacles, as the erstwhile bunch race against the clock to the  truth about the mysterious City Of Gold.  Merced's take on the legend that is Dora is pitch-perfect. She's forever chipper, wide-eyed, enthusiastic and very smart. And while the antics of her gang sometimes slide into pleasing slapstick, this Dora is a clever and savvy leader, a mini Lara Croft in the making. Her first movie outing is a watchable, credible triumph for all ages to lose themselves in.
