Good Vibrations
Here at NCC, we were all so deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing one of our most vocal & loyal supporters; local legend Petesy Burns, who we lost at the beginning of this year.
He was a regular attendee at so many of our screenings, a great friend & a true film-lover, always with a big smile & a kind word. He also happened to be one of the architects of the Belfast Punk sound, & appeared (albeit briefly!) in the film story of the scene, & it’s main advocate, Terri Hooley. The film was called GOOD VIBRATIONS, after the infamous Belfast-based record label & record shop of course, we screened it upon it’s release back in 2013.
So to commemorate our dear mate, we have chosen to screen it once again, as our closing film for Full Moon Sunday - a raucous, good natured tale of 70s Belfast, punk music and well good vibrations really.
Here’s to you, Petesy. Much, much missed.
