NCC, Autism Support Kilkeel (ASK) and ADHD Hub present Relaxed Screenings to increase access to cinema for people with neuro-diverse conditions and their families. To promote access, tickets are £3.00 per person.
Our Relaxed Screenings are designed to be welcoming and inclusive, with softer sound, lower lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere where audiences can move around as needed. Everyone is welcome.
The Movie
To celebrate its 30th birthday, it’s high time we revisit one of the most successful movie adaptations Road Dahl, as we bring you the peerless family favourite Matilda. This fantasy comedy depicts our eponymous little heroine, a wonderful girl who happens to be a genius, and her equally wonderful schoolteacher Miss Honey, and their struggles against the worst parents in the world, and the worlds worst school principle to boot. Young Mara Wilson is a revelation as Matilda, and the film’s bouncy dialogue & tremendous sense of fun, plus a delightfully happy ending, ensures Matilda still stands up 30 years on as top notch movie fare for the whole family - just as Mr Dahl himself would have wanted.
