What is a relaxed screening?

NCC & Autism Support Kilkeel (ASK) present Relaxed Screenings for people with neurodiverse conditions and their families. Screenings are relaxed and welcoming with dimmed lights, no trailers and freedom to wander or sing along. ASK is generously supporting this thread to keep the ticket price low at £1.50 per seat.

The Snowman

It’s Christmas Eve and last night’s heavy snowfall is full of magic. James wakes up and rushes out to build a huge snowman. He’s not an ordinary snowman, but one who can fly. You don’t have to go all the way to the North Pole to meet Father Christmas because he’ll be at NCC for this screening.

Originally published in 1978, The Snowman, created and illustrated by Raymond Briggs has become one of the world’s most popular children’s books selling in excess of 8.5 million copies worldwide and being translated into over 15 languages. 

This well-loved book was adapted for screen by producer John Coates, leading to the Oscar nominated animation with iconic score which first aired in 1982 and has been broadcast on a global scale including Asia, Europe and North America.
